Owl + Pussycat…our name.
The Owl & The Pussycat
a poem written by Edward Lear.
As a child this was a favourite book that I vividly remember my mum reading. I could (and still can!) recite almost the whole poem and I find myself using the same inflections that my mum did all those years ago!
When researching poems for my own wedding I remember laughing as I can across my dear friends the Owl and the Pussycat in a “suggestions” list, and upon reading the poem aloud I was amazed at the beautiful connotations of love and marriage, further more I was shocked at the similarities between my very own love story. The Pea green boat, the turkey, and stranger yet- sailing away for a year and a day… it was a year and 101meds a day that Scott and I were married after becoming engaged- right before setting sail from Turkey – it was meant to be right!?
